So I have officially decided to be serious about getting my food and exercise under control. I have been 'talking' about losing weight for months now... well years actually, but after my actions yesterday this will be enforced immediately.
Yesterday, James, Taylor, and I tried out 'Austin's' since a friend recommended it. Let me tell you, I enjoyed my food! They had this spinach and artichoke dip in a bread bowl that was to die for. We ate EVERY bit of it! Taylor ate her normal amount... not a whole lot. We continued on shopping and then came home. At around 6, I thought the peanut butter cookies that were waiting in the fridge sounded tasty. I popped them in the oven and Taylor and I were eating them as soon as they came out. We shared three. About 8:30, we put Taylor to bed. 2 hours later, I sat here thinking... I never made dinner... then OMG, Taylor's dinner officially consisted of peanut butter cookies. Talk about feeling like a bad parent... I was instantly sick to my stomach!
Now, I am going to start the 'from the couch to a 5k in 8 weeks' and we are going to focus on portion sizes and healthier cooking! Gonna pull the grill out tonight... 50s = warm enough to grill!

I have a bunch of sites I use for recipes, let me know if you want any of them.
p.s.
You are a good mom!
i think cookies for dinner every once in while define good mom in most kids books :) i'm with you on the healthier aspect though.
I started that couch to 5K right before getting pregnant and I loved it! I did week 1 for probably 2 weeks but I didn't give myself a time limit and knew I'd get there eventually. I'm not a runner and it helped me tremendously.
